St. Vartan Chapel and Mausoleum and Tukh Manuk Shrine
Up on the gentle slopes around the Aparan reservoir are two interesting sites. It is a beautiful location with view of the reservoir, Mount Aragats, and Mount Ara.
The first site to view is the 4th- 5th century Tukh Manuk shrine. This particular shrine was next to the Poghos Petros church down below but due to the construction of the Aparan Reservoir in 1962-67, it was moved up on the higher slopes. Right next to the shrine to the northeast is the remains of the 5th century St. Vartan chapel and mausoleum.
