St. Hovhannes Church Byurakan
The St. Hovhannes Church of Byurakan is a beautiful 10th century basilica which is still active and nestled in the center of the village.
There are two entrances into the building. The main entrance is from the south side of the church and has an inscription above it. The decorative carvings on the church are consistent with older style churches pre 12th-13th century such as grape vines and roots as well as ionic style capitals on the columns
