Chikivank was built in 1297AD. It is south of Herher village in the Vayots Dzor province. There you will also find a shrine to Saint Grigor Lusavorich (1296). As you can see this is a tiny site interestingly perched on a sharp peak overlooking the Herher river. In the 13th century, Herher was fief of the Orbelian vassals, the Shahurnetsi family. Next time I will try to get closer!
